How to tell if a student has a work-study award: ; click on "start a new authorization" and then work-study. Start typing student information (first letter of first name, followed by last name (i.e. esales….). If their name appears, they have work-study. If not, most likely they do not have it.ÌýWork-study students have demonstrated a financial need; use work-study whenever possible. If you or your student thinks they should have a work study award but they do not, send them to Financial Aid; in many cases it's a quick fix and the award can be added. To determine how many work-study hours a student has, they can divide their total work-study award by the hourly student rate (which is in the purple box on the Payroll homepage).ÌýÌý
